Associated Teaching Programs
In recent years, various academic institutions have approached the Institute and requested its support for certain courses and programs they offer. In January 2015, IIJG instituted an “Associated Programs” framework to accommodate these requests.
The Institute is now open to collaborative arrangements with institutions offering academically accredited courses and programs that contain a meaningful Jewish Genealogy component, either at the teaching or fieldwork level, or both. Faculty members wishing such courses/programs to be offered in association with the Institute are invited to submit to the Chair of the IIJG Academic Committee a formal letter of request, attaching the course/program outline, and a letter of support from an appropriate authority at the institution where the course/program is being given.
For its part, the Institute will be happy to be of assistance, if necessary, in designing the Jewish Genealogy component of the course/program and in giving guidance regarding its teaching elements. The Institute will also post on this Website details of the course/program and, at a later stage, reports about its results and outcomes, if so desired. The Institute is not, however, in a position to offer funding for associated courses/programs.
